Dr Jesse Martin-Allan

Clincial Psychologist  BA(Hons), PhD

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked in a range of services including child and adolescent mental health, private practice and inpatient hospital settings. I specialise in mindfulness-based approaches, having completed my PhD on the topic in 2023.

In supporting my clients, I strive to be as present, receptive and empathetic as possible. When battling with mental illness I believe that having someone in your corner who genuinely wants to help can be a very important part of recovery. Thus, I encourage regular feedback in order to build a therapeutic relationship that is both collaborative and open. I also have a focus on setting relevant goals that are informed by a strong shared understanding of client issues. I encourage my clients to draw upon their own innate coping strategies, as well as techniques which I am familiar with in order to achieve these goals. I have experience working with Mindfulness-Based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have an interest in working with neurodiversity (in particular ADHD assessment and management), assessment and management of disabilities and chronic illness.
